Ramat Shalom Beth Israel is currently searching for a Religious School/Clergy Administrator to enhance our thriving Religious School community, as well as offer assistance to our Clergy. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the smooth and efficient administrative operations of the Religious School, in close collaboration with the Director of Lifelong Learning and Clergy. The individual in this role will provide daily support to both the Religious School and Clergy, assist the congregation and synagogue staff as necessary through coordination with the Director of Administration, and act as a central figure in the Ramat Shalom Beth Israel office. This is a full-time position with benefits.

• Reports to Director of Lifelong Learning & Engagement
• Serve as first point of contact for RSBI’s clergy, religious school, youth programming, B’nai Mitzvah, and post-B’nai Mitzvah programs.
• Ensures effective communication with all students, families, faculty, and other members.
• Be present to assist with Religious School (September – May) on Sundays, 9-1 and Wednesdays, 5-8
• Be present at all B’nai Mitzvah Services.
• Works with Director of Lifelong Learning to schedule and promote of all youth programming, adult education, and other relevant programs.
• Support regular operations of the RSBI Torah School
o Maintain adequate stock of supplies in the religious school
o Inventory and order supplies for teachers and programs
o Coordinate school trips and programs
o Communicate set up needs for programs and schools
o Oversee teacher schedules and communication; student attendance
o Manage student records
• Create and send weekly communications to teachers, tutors, students, and parents
• Oversee religious school annual enrollment
• Coordinate, plan, and implement the B’nai Mitzvah Program (ie dates, building usage, materials, scheduling of meetings & tutoring, maintain contact with accounting department, serving as a contact for B’nai Mitzvah families and hands-on details of each B’nai Mitzvah service.)
• Monitor supply of B’nai Mitzvah gifts and reorder as needed
• Coordinate with caterers, florists and other vendors for program day.
• Coordinates with the Tech team for recording and streaming or services and classes.
• Be part of the synagogue Administrative Team during weekday work hours in conjunction with the Director of Lifelong Learning and Engagement. Schedule should be flexible, ensuring attendance at religious school and B’nai Mitzvah services as needed.
• Manage clergy calendars, meeting schedules and communications
• Prior to select holidays, there may be a need to shift added focus to the many tasks in preparation for the holidays (especially in late-August & September). Flexibility / extension of hours is a must during the High Holidays.
